Lane Children Centre brings together a wide range of service for pregnant
women and their partners; children from birth to 5 years of age and their
families. The Centre is a one-stop shop within the community for parents
to access childcare and family support.
The services are for everyone within the Riverside ward and beyond. Education and Childcare MAPS Nursery is a purpose built setting, within the school grounds, providing education and childcare from a qualified and experienced team of professional staff. Fees are kept to a manageable level and working tax credit may be available to help reduce them even further. We actively promote equality and inclusion, maintaining close links with the school. We aim to provide opportunities for learning and development that are rich, stimulating and fulfilling. Child and Family Health Services Through the dedicated services of the local Midwives and Health Visitors a range of regular clinics and drop in sessions operate from the modern facilities opened in 2005. Baby Club, Baby Massage, Pilates, Sleep Clinic, Stay and Play, Weaning Clinic, Toy Library and a range of others make the Centre a thriving place to meet other mums and dads. Outreach Work We have three outreach workers who are available to offer support and guidance on issues around family support, SEN/Disability and childminding.
